The Detroit Institute of Arts, located in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, has one of the largest and most significant art collections in the United States. With over 100 galleries, it covers 658,000 square feet with a major renovation and expansion project completed in 2007 that added 58,000 square feet. Wikipedia

There is a new exhibition which is featuring 44 works by Berthe Morisot, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and others.  It is comprised of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works from the collections of the DIA and the Albright-Knox

Finish day with the Art Institute at 4 p.m.? Or the Historical Museum (free admission, 9:30-4:00 p.m.) or the Detroit Library (12 noon – 8 p.m.) which are across the street. Plenty to do until closings!!
